Writing a remembrance for L. Weston Torrey Jr., is both sad and joyful at the same time.
Our children grew up together and we shared many happy memories watching Matthew, Ethan, and Ben grow up and become the responsible adults they are today, with their own families.
Weston was always a quiet, thoughtful presence at our family gatherings and often made us all laugh with his wry sense of humor.
Rest in peace, and know that you will be missed by the Carter family.

He was indeed a very kind and gentle soul. A very calm and generous presence around the neighborhood. He had a very distinctive laugh too. Slightly mischievous sort of laugh (in the best possible way), I always thought. My thoughts go out to his family.

I had so much fun with the Torrey family when I was a kid. I spent many weekends with them and I always had a great time. Uncle Weston was a big reason why. He was always great to me. I'll miss him very much.
