Virginia F. Davis

Virginia F. Davis, 77, of Salt Lake City, UT, formerly of Hingham, MA, passed away on November 29, 2014. Daughter of the late Herbert and Frances (Bradbury) Davis, she is survived by her uncles; Irving Davis of Hingham and Carleton Davis of Granville, NY. Virginia also leaves behind her cousins John Libby and his wife Marsha, Debora Libby, Diane Hobert, and several other cousins.

Virginia was born and raised in Hingham and was a graduate of Hingham High School. Growing up, she was always active in youth activities at the Old Ship Church and Norwell Grange, where her father was a long time master. She then went on to successfully complete degrees at Bates College and Cornell University New York Hospital School of Nursing. After a career in Home Nursing, she retired in Salt Lake City. In her spare time, she enjoyed researching genealogy.


A visiting hour will be held for Virginia on Monday, December 8, from 11 AM – 12 PM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street, Hingham. Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 12 PM. Interment will take place at Hingham Centre Cemetery, Hingham.
