Toni Ellen (Pettit) Trudell

Toni Trudell, age 81, of Hingham, MA, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She is survived by her sister Susan Ott (Ron) and brother Brian Pettit (Beverly); children Elaine Trudell (Jill), Christopher Trudell (Stephanie), Sarah Callaway (Rich), and Craig Trudell (Molly); and grandchildren Nathan, Benjamin, Samuel, William and Grace. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Trudell and by her parents A. Joseph Pettit and Helen Pettit. A private memorial will be held with family in Michigan.

Toni was a proud Michigander and graduate of the University of Michigan. She followed and cheered on the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines throughout her life. She was a talented and expert knitter and later took up wool spinning, textile weaving and basket weaving. She also had an avid sense of adventure and loved to travel, whether to Europe or to a beach, happily beachcombing with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and relished good meals with friends and family. As with food and adventures, her motto was always “I’ll try anything once.”

Above all, she loved her kids and grandchildren and no amount of words can describe how much she will be missed by them and those who knew her.
