Timothy J. Coleman died the evening of November 11, 2023 of cardiac complications. He was 71.
Tim, as he was known to friends and family, was born January 21, 1952 in Hingham, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro NH, where he also played hockey avidly. Professionally, Tim was a top certified industrial coatings specialist who worked on large ships and industrial projects to ensure that construction crews met stringent quality standards when painting. His residence was in West Bath, Maine, where his love of the sea and boats, as well as unique vehicles of a certain age, could be more readily enjoyed.
Tim had a gift for being able to tackle just about any project, and always seemed to be fixing something for someone; his willingness to help was a commodity in large supply, well known to all. He had an active mind and a love of history and the old west. His exceptional personality, warmth, and inimitable, witty sense of humor will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by his partner of 26 years, Paula Hart. He also leaves behind son Sean Coleman, his wife Cara, granddaughter Abigail, son Matthew Coleman, daughter Meghan Ramsey, and her partner Dan Jensen, along with his former wife and mother to his three children, Starla Coleman, as well as Paula's three children, Theresa Ciarfella, Douglas Ciarfella, and Christina Ciarfella.
He was the 5th of 6 children and is also survived by siblings Ellen Coleman, Francis Coleman and his wife Theresa, Margaret Coleman, Connie Coleman, and Mary Coleman along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 16th, from 4pm to 7pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street, Hingham, MA. A graveside service will be held at High Street at 10AM Friday, November 17th.
