Sophia C (Caradimos) Gillespie

Sophia C. Gillespie,passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 23, 2022 at the age of 63 after a long illness. 

She was the daughter of the late Michael and Theodora (Kamberogiannis) Caradimos. Sophia leaves behind her beloved husband Matthew J. Gillespie, her sister Laura and her husband Sid Akerblom, her niece Micaela Phinney and grandnephew Owen Pope.

Sophia was raised in Onset MA and educated at Bridgewater State College and Boston University. She studied physical education and health science.  Sophia spent many years teaching and also coached track and field sports and doing Recuperative Performance Therapy. Sophia also spent many years in Management and Business administration with corporate organizations primarily in Newton MA and N.J. 

She loved her artwork and photography and also working with the elderly in memory care. She loved the ocean, traveling, and bicycling . Very important to Sophia was her Christian faith and Bible Study. She will always be remembered as a kind, and caring human being, always seeing the beauty in in the simple things.

A  Funeral Service will be held on Thursday October 27, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the Heritage Christian Church
655 Boxberry Hill Rd.E. Falmouth, Ma.

And a graveside service will be held on Friday October 28, 2022 at 11 A.M. at Hingham Cemetery, Water Street Hingham. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Arrangements for Sophia are under the care of Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, Hingham.
