Ruth (Josenhans) Diezemann, 91, loving wife of the late Gustav A. (Gus) Diezemann died on Sept. 11, 2022 at Rose Court, assisted living facility of Linden Ponds in Hingham.
Ruth was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 18th, 1931, to Frederick and Emma (Bremer) Josenhans. She is predeceased by her older brother, Frederick of Richmond, VA, her twin brother Robert of Annapolis, MD and a niece, Jennifer Mulcahy of Petersburg, VA
Upon graduation from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn in 1949 she began a career as an executive secretary at AT&T Headquarters in Manhattan. Her career at AT&T lasted until 1958 when she left to raise her family.
She was introduced to her husband in 1955 through mutual friends. Married in 1957, they spent 62 wonderful years together until Gus’s death in 2019.
Ruth always referred to herself as a Brooklynite, until she moved to Hingham in 1973. She fell in love with the town, immersed herself into the community and never looked back. She was active in her church, the House of Prayer Lutheran Church and she volunteered at Hingham’s Congregational Church Consignment Center for 40 years.
She also volunteered and gave tours at Hingham’s “Old Ordinary” a colonial era inn.
A wonderful cook and a natural hostess, she was always at her best hosting dinner parties, which she did frequently. She was also an avid traveler, bridge player and gardener.
Ruth is survived by her three sons, Mark and his wife Lillian of Peabody, MA, parents of Emily and William, John and his wife Taisonara of Westford, MA parents of John Jr. and James and his wife Amy, of Brookfield Ct. parents of Martha and Anna.
A private ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at the Hingham Cemetery.
