Richard Prior Paul

Richard Prior Paul passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 19, 2026, at the age of 82.

Richard lived a full and meaningful life, filled with family, friendship, travel, and many cherished memories. He spent part of his career working for the railroad and later at IBM, experiences that reflected his steady character and introduced him to many people and places throughout his life.

Some of Richard's happiest moments were shared with his beloved wife, MaryEllen. Together, they enjoyed many wonderful adventures, including trips to Mexico and cruises that brought them great joy. He especially loved his time in Acapulco, Mexico, where he enjoyed playing cards with friends. At home, Richard and MaryEllen could often be found dancing to 1950s music in the kitchen or out on the back deck, especially to "Rave On" by Buddy Holly. Richard was also a lifelong sports fan, with a special love for baseball and the simple joy of watching a good game, especially when surrounded by family and friends.

Richard's family was an important part of his life, and he will be lovingly remembered by those who knew him best. He is survived by his beloved wife, MaryEllen; his sister, Roberta Paul Allard, and her husband, Richard, of St. Albans, Vermont, and their three daughters; his children, Cynthia Paul Racine of Adams, Massachusetts, Judith Paul Ward and her husband, Greg, of Seattle, Washington, and Richard Robert Paul and his wife, Carol; his stepchildren, Anthony Cibotti and his wife, Francine, and Lisa Fernandes and her husband, Roger; his grandchildren, Joshua Racine, Kyle Racine, Kayla Larabee, George Daniel Lumbra Fitzgerald, Meagan Fitzgerald, Lynsay Ward, Hannah Paul, and Michael Paul; his stepgrandchildren, Amanda Cibotti, Roger Fernandes Jr., and Brandon Fernandes; and eight great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather in Richard's memory at St. Mary's Church in Hull on May 1st, 2026, for a visiting hour from 10:00 AM - 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Hull Village Cemetery.

For those wishing to send flowers, arrangements may be coordinated through Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, with delivery to St. Mary's Church in Hull on Thursday or Friday morning prior to the services. Richard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
