Richard Shawn Haley passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 1st, 2023. He was born May 1st, 1957 to Walter J. Haley Sr. and Mary E. (Bernan) Haley. Shawn grew up in Hull, later raising his family in Hingham. His daughters, Rebecca Jollotta and Meredith Haley, were the light of his life. Shawn took pride and joy in the successes of his daughters, and through them he leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and strength. We will remember Shawn’s enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, especially with knowledge gained through all his life experiences. He was a man of remarkable talent-he could build or fix anything. Shawn dedicated many years of his life as a foreman mechanic for the MBTA, retiring in 2022. His loving, kind, and even-tempered personality endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Shawn is survived by his daughters, Rebecca and Meredith and their respective husbands: Derek Jollotta and Aaron Ungvarsky, as well as his grandchildren: Sophie Jollotta and George Ungvarsky.
Among his siblings, Richard was preceded in death by his brother Walter “Chuck” Haley, Jr. He is survived by his brothers Peter, Timothy, Kevin, and Mark and his sister, Mary Ann Haskins.
