Richard Cavicchi Obituary

Richard J. Cavicchi, 74 of Hingham, died on February 7, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth after a brief illness.

Born in Plymouth, MA in 1946 to his late parents, Delfo and Mirandy (Viera) Cavicchi, he graduated from Plymouth High School in 1964, enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1969. Richard was employed by New England Telephone/AT&T and Boston Edison/NSTAR for 44 years.  After retiring in 2010, Richard and Stacey moved to Englewood, FL and lived there for eight years.

They returned to their home state of Massachusetts in 2018 to be closer to family and friends. Richard loved his wife, sons and granddaughters. He was a simple guy who enjoyed playing golf with his brothers and indulged in some gambling, “a hand or two” of Poker and Blackjack.  A trip to Mohegan Sun or Las Vegas was always a welcomed retreat.

He was the beloved husband of Stacey (Shanks) Cavicchi for 24 years and the brother of Judy (Cavicchi) Daly of Plymouth, Frank and Judy Cavicchi of Englewood, FL and Michael and Martha Cavicchi of Plymouth. He leaves behind two sons, Rod and his wife Deborah Cavicchi of Plymouth and Rhett and his wife Tracy Cavicchi of Rockland. He was the grandfather of five wonderful granddaughters, Bryce, Devin, Ainsley, Logan and Kelsey Cavicchi. He also leaves behind many nephews, one special niece and many extended family and friends.
