Richard Bender Obituary

Richard M. Bender, 64, of Hull, MA, passed away on December 23, 2024, in Weymouth, MA, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Milton, MA, in 1960, Richard was the son of Albert Bender (deceased) and Barbara (Heaney) Bender. He graduated from Landmark as a Master Carpenter and from Hull High School, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for six years. Following his military service, Richard went on to run his own business.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Lisa (Marsh) Bender; his children, Rebecca Bender, Laura Bender, and Richard Bender; and his two cherished grandchildren, Treyson Dumond and Xavier Dumond. Richard is also survived by his mother, Barbara Bender, and his sisters, Mary (Bender) Albert and Barbara (Bender) Williamson. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Bender, and his brothers, Albert Bender and Vincent Bender.

A funeral Mass will be held on January 11, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, located at 208 Samoset Avenue, Hull, MA 02045, followed by a burial at Hull Cemetery (all are welcome) and a Celebration of Life from 12:30-3:30pm at the Red Parrot in Hull, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to NVNA and Hospice in Norwell, MA, for the compassionate care they provided during Richard’s final days.

Richard was a kind, generous, and caring man who will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
