After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Pauline Murano, passed into eternal life on August 22, 2023.
Born May 25, 1944 in South Boston, she was a beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth (Sheehan) Murano and Frank J. Murano.
Pauline was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, class of 1962. She went on to a successful career with Kelly Girls of Boston. Later, she accepted a job to travel across the country recruiting scientists and engineers for Careers, Inc. In 1972, she co-founded Anodyne Medical Services in Quincy, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her siblings: Francis Murano of Quincy, James (MaryLou) Murano of Naples, Florida, Joanne (Anthony) Laubacher of Whitman, and Linda (Raymond) Bradley of Canton. In addition, her cherished nieces and nephews and their families, as well as countless loving cousins and an eclectic group of friends (you know who you are).
She was a legendary party host and coordinated hilarious and adventurous boating excursions. Holidays were her favorite time to go “all out” in celebration; like the many years on Christmas Eve which regularly consisted of renting a limousine, a pit stop at FAO Schwartz for the young ones on board to run in and pick out a toy, touring the city lights and dining in Boston for an Italian feast. She also had spent time in Naples, Florida where she had weekly dinners with her nieces to stay up to date with their lives and, of course, to plan more parties.
Pauline’s essence and true gift was in her ability to make anyone she encountered feel invaluable. She treated strangers like family and would give away her last dollar to anyone in need. Her attentiveness and energy was infectious, and she was always ready for a new adventure. Simply, to know her was to love her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish 208 Samoset Ave Hull, MA on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass, beginning at 10:00.
