Patricia A. Kenny

Patricia (Pat) A. Kenny of Hingham, MA died peacefully with her family around her on April 13, 2022 at the age of 98. Pat was born on January 30, 1924 in Braintree MA and graduated from Braintree High School.  She was the daughter of the late Mary Benson (Mooney) and David Benson, and wife of the late Jerry Kenny.  Loving mother of Jerry Kenny, and his wife Barbara, Paula Zicko and her husband Peter and late husband John Walsh, the late Robert Kenny and his wife Debra, Kevin Kenny and his wife Lynne, Brian Kenny and his long-time partner Christine Keenan, and the late Michael Kenny and his late wife Michelle.  Devoted grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

Pat worked for the Department of the Navy until she retired and received multiple commendations including one from Rear Admiral Chambers citing her “exceptional professional ability, initiative and loyal dedication to duty reflect great credit upon herself and was in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. naval service. 

Pat was a woman of great faith, a great friend, author of her own family cook book and loved to spend time with family.

After living on her own until last summer, a lack of mobility resulted in her moving into Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham where she received excellent care.  The family wishes to thank all the staff who were as much friends as caregivers.  They would also like thank Autumn Hospice who provided such wonderful support to Pat and the whole family.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, April 18th, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street, Hingham MA. 02043. 

All are asked to gather on Tuesday, April 19th, for a Funeral Mass at St. Paul Parish, 147 North St. Hingham, MA 02043 at 10:00 A.M.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry, 685 Main St. Hingham, MA 02043.
