Kevin L. Eachus of Berkley, formerly of Hingham and Deerfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 1. He was 58 years old. Born in Dayton, Ohio on Sept. 3, 1965 to H. Todd Eachus, of New Jersey, and the late Maureen (Sullivan) Purdy, Kevin was a loving son, father, and friend to many.
A graduate of Hingham High School and the University of Massachusetts, Kevin spent almost 30 years in financial analytics before retiring earlier this year. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
Kevin will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and was looking forward to spending his retirement in Maine, golfing and fishing to his heart’s content and catching up on the latest historic novels. He also had a deep passion for music, and loved Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and the Grateful Dead. Kevin was also someone who could aways find the perfect situation for a good Monty Python quote and loved finding people who shared his humor.
Kevin’s devotion to Boston sports defined him, and he was able to see his beloved Celtics win Banner 18 before his passing. His greatest joys were bringing his sons to the championship parades throughout the years and regaling them with the story of how many years he waited to see the Red Sox win a World Series. He made amazing memories for his sons and they carry on the Boston sports pride from their Dad.
Kevin is survived by his two beloved sons, Joseph Lawrence Eachus and Benjamin Alexander Eachus, who were his greatest pride and joy. He never missed a sports game, school play, Christmas concert or awards event for either of his sons, and more recently, proudly wearing their college swag. Anyone who knew Kevin felt like they knew Joseph and Ben as he always talked about them and how proud he was of them.
Kevin will be dearly missed by his family, his friends, colleagues and lifelong friends whom he considered family.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday July 27, 2024 from 2pm-4pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham MA, 02043. Burial will be private.
