Julia Lukan Wichert of Hingham, formerly of Scituate, age 55, passed away quietly in her home on July 13, 2023, after a lifelong battle with epilepsy.
Julie was a beloved wife, devoted sister, and a great friend to many. She leaves behind her loving husband and best friend of 25 years, Cai Wichert of Hingham, brothers Justin Lukan and his wife Dawn of Marshfield, Joseph Lukan and his wife Rosalinda of Texas. Daughter in-law to Kim Wichert of Burlington V.T. She is predeceased by her parents, Joanne and Joseph Lukan both of Scituate. Her brother Jeffrey Lukan of Wareham and her mother in-law Jean Doble of Hingham.
Julie was born in Fon Du Lac Wisconsin, moving to Scituate with her family at the age of 5 where she spent her childhood and attended Scituate school. Julie loved animals, especially horses. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping at flea markets and antique stores, and taking long walks. She enjoyed the ocean very much. Julie would strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved to go out to eat and was a frequent patron of her favorite restaurant, Sweet Lemons, in Weymouth where the staff knew her and Cai well. She was very friendly and loving. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Service for Julie will be private. Donations in her memory can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of America.
