Judith Ann (Ramsdell) Hersey of Hingham, passed away unexpectedly with her loving husband by her side, December 3, 2020 at the age of 72. Beloved daughter of the late Roy R. Ramsdell and Doris M. (Page) Ramsdell.

Judith was born in Quincy, graduated from Woodward School for Girls, Regis College and received her master’s degree from Bridgewater State College. Judith lived in Hingham and Duxbury her entire life.

She was a special education teacher in Marshfield prior to the arrival of her first daughter.

An avid scrapbooker she had a room specially designed to enhance her techniques and artistic talents. She created multiple years of bound scrapbooks chronicling her two daughters and grandchildren growing up. She also taught scrapbooking for the Duxbury continuing education program.

Judith was very creative and an accomplished seamstress. She made children’s’ outfits for ice skating and dancing. She also coordinated the interior design of her homes.

Judith loved to travel, explore new restaurants and spend time on their boat traveling the Florida Intracoastal waterway visiting friends. Her favorite pastime was walking the beach collecting seashells on Captiva and Sanibel Islands.

Judith and Peter were married at Saint Paul’s Church on October 18, 1975 and recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Due to Covid-19 they had take-out from the Alma Nova restaurant which made her favorite bolognese.

Her family was everything to her and the four grandchildren made her enormously proud. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions a private funeral mass will be celebrated at
