Joseph Edward Landers, 85, long-time resident of Hingham, died peacefully at home on May 2nd, 2023 from heart failure. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marcia (Warren) Landers, three children, Marc Landers of Weymouth, Kerry Landers of Pembroke, and Andrea Collins and her husband Mark Collins of Scituate, and two grandchildren who knew him as Popsy.
The youngest of seven siblings, Joseph was born and raised in Boston. He is predeceased by four sisters and one brother. He joined the Air Force after high school and served intermittently between 1956 and 1970. He then worked for AT&T for 20 years as a Communications Technician until his retirement in 1990.
Joseph was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, watching movies and sports, doing crosswords, and memorizing trivia.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Blue Hill Cemetery Veterans Section on Saturday May 13, 2023 at 12 Noon please meet at the cemetery office 700 West Street Braintree across from the Cemetery.
