Jennifer M Allen

Jennifer Marie Allen passed away on June 27, 2024 in the loving arms of her family. She was the devoted & cherished daughter of Josephine (Beninati) Allen and the late Robert M. Allen of Hingham. Loving sister of Craig E. Allen and wife Cheryl of Kingston, and Heather Allen of Hingham. Adored aunt of Elidia, Savannah and Nicholas. Loving niece of Robert J. and the late Maryann J. Arria of Hingham. Granddaughter of the late Anthony and Elidia Beninati.

Jennifer was born and raised in Hingham, graduated from Notre Dame Academy, received her bachelor's degree in art and computer science from Mount Holyoke college, and went on to receive her master's degree from U.C.L.A. California in film and television animation. Jennifer was a gifted artist winning state and international art competitions.

She started her career working for Paramount Studios in California animating for a popular T.V. series and later a full feature film. Jennifer spent countless hours donating her time mentoring and driving troubled, abandoned teens to shelters and programs. Her boundless generosity to the less fortunate was a high priority all of her life. Upon hearing of the upcoming birth of her first niece, she relocated to Hingham, not wanting to miss a moment of this blessed event. Family was the most important part of her life.  Her nieces and nephew were the light of her life, family first always. Jennifer loved spending family time with day trips, cape cod vacations, Disney World trips, but her favorite was Sunday Italian family dinners prepared by her mother.

For the last 20 years Jennifer was employed by Marchionne Insurance, who were her second family, while continuing to create beautiful works of art and sculptures, which are treasured by her family. She will always be remembered for her famous smile and her kind, generous heart. 

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday July 9th, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham MA 02043. A funeral mass will take place Wednesday July 10th, 2024, at 10am at St. Paul's Parish 147 North Street Hingham MA 02043. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery 114 Hersey Street Hingham MA 02043. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jennifer's name to Saint Paul's Parish Hingham.
