Jeanne Blackwell Morgan

It is with great sadness we bid farewell to Jeanne Blackwell Morgan. She passed away peacefully on October 15th with her children by her side. She was a beacon of light leaving behind a legacy of warmth and laughter.

Jeanne was born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury and spent summers in Scituate. She went to Mount Alvernia Academy and graduated from Regis College. She has been a Hingham resident and part of the Hingham Community for over 70 years.

Jeanne walked through life, with her smiling Irish eyes, full of charisma, sweetness, kindness, thoughtfulness, a witty sense of humor, and full of energy!  She touched the lives of everyone she encountered with an unforgettable grace. She was a ray of sunshine and will be missed by many.

She was a wonderful mother. She chose to be a teacher so she could be home when her kids came home. Then she taught swimming at Tower School Day Camp. Students she taught privately included Steven Tyler's children and Robert Kennedy's grandchildren. She was a swimming director at Old Colony Swim and Tennis Club in Pembroke. She developed a boy's cooking class at Hingham High School, taught Physical Education at Notre Dame Academy, was a sales agent at Talbots, and lastly a real estate agent for Jack Conway. She was the most selfless, understanding, compassionate and caring mother.

Jeanne was the wife of the late Frank C. Morgan and mother of the late Greg F. Morgan. Survived by daughter Lynne Morgan Loa and William Loa of Honolulu Hawaii, son Frank Morgan and Pam Morgan of Foxboro, MA, four grandchildren Jason Morgan of Foxboro, MA, Jeff Morgan of Raynham, MA, Brittany Morgan of Somerville, MA, and Lisa Morgan of Bend, Oregon, three great grandchildren Cole Morgan, Jason Morgan II of Foxboro, MA, and Brayden Morgan of Raynham, MA.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday October 20th, 2024, from 4-7pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham MA 02043. Funeral mass on Monday October 21st, 2024, at 11am at the Resurrection Church 1057 Main Street Hingham MA 02043. Lunch to follow at the Scarlet Oak Inn at Queens Anne Corner.
