Jean F (French) Nutile

Jean F. Nutile, aged 79, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 26, 2024, in Hingham, Massachusetts, with her beloved husband, Richard, and her daughter Wendy by her side. Born on June 13, 1945, in Somerville, Massachusetts, Jean was the cherished daughter of the late Mary G. (Murphy) and Harold E. French Sr.

Jean and Richard shared a blessed 52-year marriage, making Hull their lifelong home. Together, they raised a loving family and cherished their dog, Juliette. Jean was preceded in death by her precious daughter Tammy Ross and survived by her four children: Wendy Myrer of North Carolina, Ronnie Nutile and Richard Nutile Jr. of Hull, and Jeff Nutile and his wife Vicky of Florida. She was a devoted Grammy to Tammi, Kayla, Deanna, Justin, Jessica, Samantha, Andrew, Helena, and Autumn, and a proud great-grandmother to Mya, Johnny, Kira, and David.

Growing up in Medford, Massachusetts, as one of ten siblings, Jean was predeceased by her brother John H. French. She is survived by her siblings: Donna Taylor, Harry French, Joyce Breen, Nancy French, Dan French, Don French, David French, and Dennis French, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jean's career was marked by her time at Schrafft’s Chocolate Factory and as a roller-skating waitress at sock hops. She also served as a compassionate CNA and, alongside her husband, successfully owned and managed several restaurants in Massachusetts.

A woman of deep faith, Jean loved Hull, especially Nantasket Beach, and was known for her passion for yard sales and antique shopping. Her love for singing and dancing reflected her vibrant spirit. Jean welcomed everyone into her home, offering unconditional love and support, embodying her faith through her actions.

Visiting hours will be Sunday December 1st, 2024, from 2-5pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham, MA. A funeral service will take place on Monday December 2nd, 2024, at 11am at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Hull Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brigham and Women's Hospital in her honor.
