James Alfred Magner, III of Hingham, MA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, June 26. He was born in Boston and was a longtime resident of Hingham and Cohasset.
He was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School and Boston University, and was the third-generation owner and operator of Magner Construction in Hingham.
James was the beloved husband of 48 years to Janice (Irwin) Magner. He was the son of the late James A. Magner, Jr. and Mary (Curley) Magner. Survived by his children, James A. IV and his wife Romina, Joseph P. and his wife Jessica, all of Hingham, and Jill M. Magner of South Boston.
Adored Papa to Gabriela, James V, Michael, Emelia, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Cora Magner, all of Hingham.
Treasured brother of Mary J. Magner, Joanne M. Winters and Paul F. Magner, all of Cohasset, Thomas D. Magner of Baltimore, MD, Bernadette M. Ippolito and her husband Jay of Hingham, Richard J. Magner and his wife Lori of Hull, and the late Imelda A. Simmons. Dear brother in-law of Judith Brooks of Mansfield. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 1st at 10 AM
St. Paul Church, 147 North Street, Hingham Square.
