Henrietta Evans Obituary

Henrietta Agnew Evans, of Hingham, passed away peacefully at Linden Ponds in Hingham on July 9, 2018 at the age of 97. 

She was born in Greenville SC to Arthur and Onnie Langston Agnew.  She was raised in a devout family with her three brother and three sisters.  She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and while there met her husband to be, William Glyn Evans, a student at Wheaton College who was studying for the ministry.  Over the next sixty years they served congregations in many locations including Cincinnati OH, Springfield IL, Hingham MA, and North Kingstown RI.  She was beloved as a minister’s wife and unwavering in her faith. 

She was a loving mother to three children; William and Dixie Evans of Winfield IL, James Evans and Dennis Churchman of Concord MA, and Nancy and Phil Lauture of Chelmsford MA.  She was the loving Oma to three grandchildren; Todd and Jennifer Evans, Ryan and Janna Evans, and Beth and Kevin Corsello, and eight great-grandchildren; Jack, Andrew, Aurelia, Adrianna, Harper, Olivia, Ava, and Langston in Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 2013 and is survived by her brother William F. Agnew of Altadena CA.

She will be deeply missed at Linden Ponds where she lived the last thirteen years of her life, by her family and friends. 

She will also be missed by church family at South Shore Baptist in Hingham where a memorial service will be held July 20 at 11am, 578 Main Street.
