Hanne Høirup Kulin, 85, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on October 9, 2024 at her home at Linden Ponds, in Hingham, MA, with her sons by her side.
Born on August 10, 1939 in Grindsted, Denmark to Mognes and Karen Høirup. She is survived by her younger brother, Christian Høirup, of Aalborg, Denmark.
In 1963, Hanne left Denmark and her entire family after meeting the love of her life, Howard Kulin, MD. Hanne and Howard raised their three sons, Ian Thomas Kulin, Kim Eric Kulin, and Jacob Morten Kulin in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Professionally, Hanne was a graduate of the Gestalt Training Institute of Philadelphia and treated patients in private practice as a certified alcohol and drug counselor.
In 2017, she received dual citizenship between Denmark and the United States. Retaining her Danish nationality was always extremely important to her. She was also a proud life member of Hadassah.
Hanne leaves behind her three sons and her four grandchildren, Emma, Tyler, Asher and Mia Kulin all of whom she loved dearly. Hanne was a warm-hearted, creative woman with a deep love for her country of origin and the United States. She was a collector of American antiques, quilts, and a talented scrapbooker, leaving behind a large collection of scrapbooks which documented her family’s life including summers spent on the western coast of Jutland, Denmark in Vejers to a special year in Nairobi, Kenya and her time living in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
