Frederick Fairbank Obituary

Frederick Alfred Fairbank, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, died peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the age of 89. Freddy was born on November 21, 1930 in Hull, MA to John and Jesse Fairbank.

He was in the Laborers Union #133, an Air Force Veteran stationed in the European Theater during the Korean War, and he was proud to be a Hull clam-digger for the majority of his life. During his retirement years, Freddy worked as a janitor for the Hull School System. He was an exceptional Hull High School football player in his youth. He was also proud to know Bill W.

Freddy is survived by his wife, Paula (Murphy) Fairbank. He was the devoted father of Douglas Fairbank of Florida (beloved daughter-in-law Dawn Hurley Fairbank of Hanover) and Frederick Bruce Fairbank (loving partner Ginny Kelly of Hanson), stepfather of four stepchildren, Philip, George (wife Sheila), Laura and Lisa Mackertich, and grandfather of two grandchildren, Brian (wife Jennifer) and Jessica Fairbank.

He is survived by his sister Marge Walburn of Florida. He was preceded in death by four siblings, John Fairbank, Ellie Durling, Bertha Cummings and Gertrude Fishwick and former wife, Margaret “Peggy” Fairbank.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1-3PM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham, MA.
