Dorothy Reid Wagstaff died Tuesday night at Rose Court, Linden Ponds in Hingham. She was 94. Dorothy was born in in Milton, MA, daughter of Desmond A. and Gladys M. Reid. She was a graduate of Milton High School and Chandler Secretarial School. Following high school, she proudly served in the Navy WAVES during WW II. She worked in the office at South Junior High School for many years.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph, and two brothers. Richard and John Reid. She is survived by daughter Heather Berg (William), and son Donald (Tommie). She leaves three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dorothy had a boundless curiosity. She spent many years researching her family history and was proud to be accepted into the Mayflower Society. Her constant optimism and cheerful smile will be missed by her family and friends. The family thanks the wonderful and caring staff at Rose Court. They became her second family, and their care and affection for her will always be remembered.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund at Rose Court, Linden Ponds, Hingham.
