Dionne Lynn (Bates) MacPherson

Dionne (Bates) MacPherson age 57 passed away on December 23, 2024. Dionne was born In Quincy and grew up in Scituate MA.  

Dionne is survived by her 2 loving daughters Michelle and Alexandra MacPherson, her husband Neil MacPherson, her mother and father Georgia and Marshall Bates Jr, her sister Stacy Vasile and her husband Michael, her brother Marshall Bates III and his wife Annemarie Gulinello, several nieces and nephews, and grand puppies.

Dionne graduated from Scituate High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Massachusetts – Boston.   After graduating and spending time with from UMass she worked at State Street Bank in Quincy, MA for 32 Years. 

Dionne was the most selfless, caring, and giving person you could possibly meet.  She always saw the best in every person and in every situation.  In the darkest days she was the light. She enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.  She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her daughters; making it to every - sports game, dance, recital, concert, or school event. (and there were many!) 

Her family would like for you to remember "Doni" in a positive light, thinking about her when you bake, read, or even hear a corny joke. 

She would not want you to mourn her death but rather celebrate her life!

Visiting hours will be held Friday January 3rd, 2025, from 4-7pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond St. Hingham MA 02043.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Dione MacPherson may be made to Scituate Animal Shelter: 780 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy, Scituate, MA 02066
