David Charles Kearney, 77, of East Dennis, Massachusetts, formerly of Needham, passed away unexpectedly on November 16th surrounded by family.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1948 to the late Arthur and Helen Kearney. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, the late Chick and Bertha Shea, in Quincy. He graduated from Northeastern University and was an engineer for National Grid (Boston Gas/Keyspan). He was also an avid skier, cyclist, and golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Judith Kearney, his brothers Charles Shea of Hingham, Phillip Shea of Stoughton, and Kevin Kearney of Lakeville. He was the loving father of Andrew Kearney and his partner, Antonio Menchaca, of Georgetown, Texas, and Heather Ridill and her husband, Park, of Hingham, and devoted Gramps to his two granddaughters. He leaves behind his loyal companion Finnegan, and many cherished family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Monday November 24, 2025, from 4-7pm at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel 21 Pond Street Hingham MA 02043. A funeral service will be held Tuesday November 25, 2025, at 10am at St Johns Episcopal 172 Main St Hingham MA 02043.
