Daniel O'Sullivan Obituary

Daniel John O’Sullivan Sr., 79, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Veteran’s Palliative & Hospice Care unit in Brockton, MA.

Dan was born the oldest of three children to Dorothy (Harding) and Daniel F. O’Sullivan in Biloxi, MS on June 19, 1944.  He graduated North Quincy High School in 1962.  He attended Annapolis Naval Academy and served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga.  After his honorable discharge in 1966 he continued his service in federal employment with the Coast Guard, US Post Office and Veteran’s Administration.

Dan was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren.  He liked beach vacations on Cape Cod and was a fervent Bruins fan.  Those who knew him will remember his generous spirit and quick wit.  Dan is survived by his wife, Carol of Weymouth; his son Daniel O’Sullivan Jr. and his wife Caroline and his daughter Tracy O’Sullivan-Pimental and her husband Michael, both of Weymouth; his sister Kathleen Fuentes and her husband Rafael of Holbrook and brother Mark O’Sullivan of Marshfield; his grandchildren, Aiden O’Sullivan, Kyler Pimental and Annabella Pimental; his nephew Christian Fuentes, his nieces Lauren Fuentes and Christina Kilburn.

Funeral services will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 172 Main Street Hingham, MA at 10:00am on August 4, 2023.  In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to be made in Dan’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://raise.stjude.org/fundraiser/4824012
