Daniel Kimborowicz

Daniel Kimborowicz, of Hingham, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 73. After an unfortunate fall Dan spent the last 6 weeks in the hospital fighting hard to recover, but ultimately succumbed to pneumonia. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.

Dan was born in Somerville, Massachusetts to the late Daniel and Dorothy Kimborowicz and is the brother of the late Jan Kimborowicz. He is survived by his wife Debbie and his three children, Nicole (Matt) of Mill Valley, California, Nathan of Hingham and Natalie Gaskins (Matt) of Pembroke. He leaves behind five adoring grandchildren, Owen, Parker, Bennett, Christopher, and Katherine. He will be missed.

An eager student from an early age, he paid his own way through Matignon High School, later completing his undergraduate degree in math at Boston State and graduate degree in education at Northeastern University. He soon found his calling as the Registrar of Massasoit Community College in Brockton, where he worked for nearly forty years. In addition to his work as the Registrar, he also shared his love for math as a professor in the school's evening program.

He was most himself as a dad and would jump at the chance to spend time with his children and later grandchildren. He could often be found buried in a book, especially history books. He was a fastidious gardener and, after retirement, volunteered clearing stone walls in World's End. He also spent many years as one of the top platelet donors at the Kraft Family Blood Donation Center at Dana Farber. He was up for a challenge whether hopping on a stage to act, heading out for a backpacking trip or entering his first road race in his sixties. Always eager to connect, he practiced his humor on anyone he met. He was also always happy to lend a helping hand and was quick to go above and beyond.

A private funeral and burial will take place in Hingham.

His family looks forward to celebrating his life with friends and family as soon as it is safe to do so.
