Christopher Arthur Eaton, a lifelong resident of Hingham, MA, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at South Shore Hospital.
Born on February 19,1960, Chris was the youngest son of the late S. Edward and Dorothy (Gittins) Eaton. Chris is survived by his step-mother Teri Eaton, sisters Deborah (Eaton) Keeney and her husband Terrance of Sudbury, MA, and Meredith (Eaton) Walsh and her husband, F. Timothy of Providence, RI, and a brother, Timothy Eaton of Texas, and step-sister, Trish Waddleton. He is also survived by nephews William Keeney, Brennan Walsh, and nieces Darcy (Keeney) Green, and Maura (Walsh) McGuinness, in addition to his lifelong companion, Maria Scarfone and his beloved cat, Oscar.
Chris loved the ocean and was a skilled sailor and an avid windsurfer. He was an air modeler and flew remote control gliders in the fields of Hingham High School. After graduating college from UMass Amherst, he worked as an artisan carpenter at Dixon Brothers Woodworking in Boston.
Chris was able to fix most anything, and had a boundless curiosity and fascination for how things worked. He loved animals and was a parent to many cats and dogs.
Chris was a genuine, kind soul, and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
The family will have a small private ceremony at a future date.
