Beverly Ambrose Peterson, age 90, of Hingham, MA, died peacefully on June 15th, 2022.  Beverly was born in Waterville, ME on February 17, 1932, and raised along with her younger brother Lewis Oliver Ambrose, by Lewis Archibald Ambrose and Vesta Oliver Ambrose.   She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Roy L. Peterson, her son Earl Ambrose Peterson and wife Dawn Marie Bryanton Peterson, her daughter Nancy Peterson Moczynski and husband Walter Vincent Moczynski, and her 3 grandchildren, Justin Minh Moczynski, Kyle Bryanton Peterson, and Leanne Thu Moczynski.

Beverly completed a bachelor’s degree at Colby College, and a master’s degree at Northeastern University.  She devoted her professional life to teaching elementary school in New Canaan, CT, Weymouth, MA, and for many years in Hingham, MA. After retiring from her teaching roll, she started a second career writing poetry, a true passion.  She wrote 27 chapbooks, and her poetry has appeared in numerous collections, magazines and reviews including the Wisconsin Review, The Montserrat Review, The Aurorean, West Crook Review, Block's Magazine, Grasslands Review, The Boston Poet, Point Judith Light, and Poets' Forum Magazine.  She also enjoyed many years of sailing, singing, and spending time with friends and family.

There will be a Celebration of Life on August 1, 2:00 pm, in the Derby Clubhouse, 203 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, MA 02043. Light Refreshments will be served.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation.
