On Friday evening April 3, 2020 a caring, loving woman and the matriarch of her family Betty Frazier Hulbert,passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 87.
She was the beloved wife of Thomas E. Hulbert, for over 62 years, and the mother of 6 children. Sally Foster and her husband B. Michael of N.C., James Hulbert and his wife Marybeth of N.H., Barbara Crosby and her husband Stephen of Canton, Judy Dupuis and her husband Jonathan of N.H., the late David R. Hulbert, Susan Murphy and her husband David of Weymouth.
Betty Mildred Frazier was born and raised on a farm in Pine Plains, NY. She was proud of her background and obviously gained her work ethic from the long hours of farming. After nursing school in Albany, NY Thomas and Betty eventually settled in Hingham in the early 1960’s at which time she started working at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was a nurse at South Shore for 40 years. As an ER nurse she saved countless lives and helped so many through difficult health challenges.
She was an outstanding cook, hostess, and an exceptional gardener who made this world a more beautiful and colorful place to live.
Betty will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as many friends.
Due to concerns with the coronavirus, funeral services will be private with a memorial to be held at the Hingham Congregational Church at a later date.
