Agnes M. MacDonald (Molloy) of Weymouth, formerly Cohasset, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 11, 2021 at the age of 80.
Agnes was born in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Madeline M. (Conti) and John T. Molloy. Beloved wife of the late Atty. Joseph W. MacDonald for 58 years. Devoted mother to six children: Brenda Blair and her husband Larry of Hull, David MacDonald and his wife Cindy of Portsmouth, RI, Madlyn Pettie and her husband Alan of Cohasset, Sarah Murphy and her husband Ryan of Andover and the late Michael and Jessica MacDonald. Agnes is also survived by her grandchildren: Ashley, Emily, Sean, Aiden, Brady, Dalton, William, Maximus and two great grandchildren: Isabel and Cory.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Elaine M. Keenan and Joseph A. Molloy.
Agnes graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School in 1957 where she was the queen of her prom. Prior to retirement, Agnes worked as an administrative assistant for the Town of Hull in the Community Development office. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted advocate for the Special Olympics in support of her late daughter Jessica. Agnes could often be found at Special Olympic events or attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at
11 am on Wednesday, February 17th at St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset.
