In 1963 he attained the rank of Captain, which he filled until his retirement in 1980.
Subsequent to his police career, Mr. Bartlett and his wife lived in Florida, Virginia, then New Hampshire, before putting down roots in Virginia where many of his family had settled. He worked hard all his life, but had diverse interests and hobbies. He earned his private pilot’s license at the age of forty, spent much time on the ski slopes of New Hampshire, and enjoyed camping, golfing and building radio controlled airplanes.
He was extremely active into his eighties, driving cars cross country for a Florida dealership, and spending time with friends and family.
