Dear Studley family
We are so grateful to have been your friends and neighbors for years in Hingham. "Mr Studley Tommy" was a marvelous person who made us children feel he was worth watching and listening to since he seemed to know so much about so many things and delightful to be with since he treated everybody as if they were worthy and deserving of his friendship. I believe that from about 4-5 years old I thought he was MY friend, not just my Dad and Moms friend or the dad of my best friend Bobby!
He just had a way of making others feel noticed and special. Dear Avis and all the Studley family our hearts are with you and we will keep in touch with you and we are so grateful to have seen you recently!
I told my my mom about Tommy today on the phone and we had some tears together thinking about the loss of him and what a unique and kind and just plain GOOD person he is.
Love to all of you

My sincere condolences to Avis and Tom's family & friends. I am grateful to have crossed paths with Tom after working at the Allerton House for the past 13 months. He was a wealth of knowledge to not only myself when I had questions about the history of places in Hingham, but to many of the residents. His kindness, sense of humor and presence will be greatly missed. May his memory & spirit live on through all the lives he touched including my own.

To all Tommy's loved ones I send deep sympathy and love from the Doble Girls - Nancy, Betsy, Jane and Sylvia. What wonderful memories we have of Tommy going back to our Center School days. He was one of a kind and was always there when we returned to Hingham for the joys and sorrows of friends and family. You are certainly in our thoughts.

Dear Studley Family,

I was saddened to learn of Tom’s passing. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. Tom evolved over 60 plus years from the father of a friend to a friend. I always appreciated how open and welcoming an 11th generation Hinghamite was to a newcomer to his beloved town in 1955. Burr Road was always a home away from home and a regular stop to visit with Tom and Avis long after I moved away. He will certainly live on in my heart and in the memories of all who knew him. My and Dana’s deepest condolences to your wonderful family.

Ed and I send our heartfelt condolences to all of Tom's family. We will miss our dear friend and co-worker "Tommy Studley" as we knew him.
He was a great man, a real gentleman, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Tom always had a wonderful story to tell about his children and family that he was so proud of.
We would often meet Tom and Avis at PJ's where we both celebrated the New Year. It made the night even more meaningful to see the two of them together, still in love and celebrating.
There is just not enough space or words to tell you all of the memories we have of Tom, but one thing is for sure and that is that he left us all in a better place for having known him.

Tom, you are truly one of a kind and there probably won't be another one like you. You have an amazing love for your wife Avis and your entire family. You have seen so much in your life and managed to share much of it with others, But aside from the obvious love you have and show is the incredible love of laughter you have and the desire to not only have a good time, but to make everyone around you have a good time when you are there. Even the sadist of times, you seem to make everyone happy to be alive. I have learned so much from you about many things, and for that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you Tom for letting me into your life so many years ago. Thank you, and may God bless you and be with you.

I was deeply saddened by the loss of your wonderful father. He was such a wise man who never seemed to mind sharing his knowledge with anyone who asked for advice. My heart aches for you and your family.

I'll never forget your father's sense of humor, generosity and graciousness. He was a wonderful man; I feel privileged to have known him. Tommy's light will always burn bright.

The Allerton House will never be the same without him!!

With much love and many heartfelt prayers,

Paulette

Dear Avis, Mike, Christine and family. Linda and I were so sorry to hear about Tom's death. He's someone who's smiling face, we thought we'd see around Hingham forever. He leaves in incredible mark on this town and our community. His good cheer, his interest in others, his sense of humor, his care for "doing good," will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers to you all. Best, Gerald
