Robert W. Davis Jr., of Chatham, formerly of Hingham, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 27, 2018 at the age of 69.
Bob, a devoted Red Sox fanatic, whose love for the team was inherited from his father, Bob Sr., and a New England sports fan in general, always had something to say about his favorite teams. That same team devotion included his alma mater, Slippery Rock University.
His other passion was travel, taking him to all 50 states, a happy accomplishment. Favorite travel spots were Las Vegas and Maui. He encouraged friends to accompany him on these trips, passing on his enthusiasm for these places.
Bob’s sense of humor and devotion to all he knew will be missed by friends and family. Nephews Dave (Jean) Dan (April) and Eric (Samantha) have wonderful Uncle Bob memories, as do sister Marilyn and her husband Max. The nephews’ wives got to experience Bob’s humor too. He will be missed.
Bob’s many friends will miss his quirky sense of humor and his many passions—the beach, air travel, Trivial Pursuit, The Price is Right, Las Vega, Maui, Jai Lai, old tv shows (particularly Superman), cribbage, Yahtzee, Red Sox, Beanie Babies, Slippery Rock, bright colored clothes, and his friends, their children and his family of the Marshes, his nephews and their wives and kids. His sister, brother-in-law, and their children have Uncle Bob jokes imbedded in their minds forever.
We mourn his loss to his long battle with diabetes but we celebrate the time he had on earth. He lived his life “his way."
