Irene M (Dunn) Ferguson

Irene M. (Dunn) Ferguson, of Weymouth, formerly of Hingham, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the age of 85.

Wife of the late Russell H. Ferguson Jr. Beloved mother of Jeffrey A. Ferguson of Whitman and his companion Marrissa Hickey of Rockland, Lynda I. MacDougall and her husband John of Weymouth, Wayne R. Ferguson and his wife Cassandra of N.Y, and Brian W. Ferguson and his wife Michelle of Brockton. Brother of the late Thomas Dunn, Virginia Sevigney and Barbara Taylor. Also survived by her 7 beloved grandchildren.

Irene was a lifelong Hingham resident until the last several years when she moved to Weymouth to live with her Daughter. She was graduate of Central High School in Hingham, Class of 1950. Irene worked for many years as a cafeteria worker at the Central Jr. High school and prior to her marriage many years ago worked at Howard Johnsons in the IBM Department in Quincy.

 Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street Hingham, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Church, 147 North Street, Hingham at 10 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
