Beatrice (Briggs) Pyne

Beatrice (Briggs) Pyne, of Hingham, passed away peacefully at her home on December 8, 2017 at the age of 100.

Beatrice was the loving wife of the late Edward S. Pyne. They were married for 64 years. She is survived by her son Stephen B. Pyne and his Wife Frances of Mansfield and a daughter Julianne Jordan of Norwell. She leaves two granddaughters. Andrea Hottleman and her Husband Thomas of Mansfield and Carolyn Bohnenberger and her husband George of Foxboro and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her six older siblings. Chester L. Briggs, Howard T. Briggs, Helen Briggs Thelma Briggs all of Houlton and Stella Houghton of Livermore Falls, Maine and Norma L Briggs of Carteret, New Jersey.

Born August 27, 1917 in Houlton,Maine she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. Briggs and Elizabeth (Wiggins) Briggs. Beatrice was a 1935 graduate of Houlton High School and moved to Hingham in 1944 with her husband.

She was an active member of St John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Hingham where she served as parish secretary for five years. She retired from Talbots of Hingham after twenty two years of service. She also served as member of the Hingham Historical Society.

She loved animals especially her loving dog Beau who was her loving companion for past 16 years. She loved to travel and with her husband and took many worldwide tours. At home she spent endless hours working around the house and yard.

A funeral service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church 172, Main Street Hingham on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend
