Norma L (Merrill) Bird

Norma L. (Merrill) Bird, of Hingham, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the age of 91.

Beloved wife of the late Walter S. Bird. Loving mother to Doreen E. Bliss and her husband Gerard of Hingham and Richard M. Bird and his wife Carrie of Canton. Cherished grandmother to five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and one great grandchild. Caring sister to Loraine Johnson of Florida, Laura Normandin of New Hampshire, Bruce Merrill of Florida, and the late Kenneth Merrill of Halifax.

Norma worked for the town of Hingham as Office Manager in the Assessor’s office for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1991.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls and Girl Scouts for many years. Norma was a wonderful woman who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A private interment will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
