Muriel C. Gilligan, of Hingham, formerly of Weymouth, passed away peacefully at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham on Saturday, October 28, 2017.
She was the daughter of the late Rosanna and James Gilligan of E. Weymouth and was the sister of the late Cecilia Grogan of Weymouth and Alfreda Kowalski of Braintree and her late brothers Lawrence (Buddy) Gilligan and Robert Gilligan both of Weymouth. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Muriel lived in Hingham for 20 years and was a prior resident of Weymouth. She graduated with the Weymouth High School Class of 1940. Muriel worked as a bookkeeper at Cutler Volkswagen and retired from Talbots.
According to her wishes there are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Weymouth on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
