Marjorie C. (Carson) Tufts, of Hingham, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2017 at the age of 91.
Beloved wife of the late Howard L. Tufts Jr. Loving mother to Howard L. “Skip” Tufts III and his wife Therese of Scituate, and Barry C. Tufts and his wife Margaret of Duxbury. Cherished grandmother to Jennifer Tufts, Howard L. Tufts IV, Kevin Tufts, Kelly Byrne, Barry C. Tufts Jr., Ryan W. Tufts, and nine great grandchildren. Daughter of the late John and Sarah Carson from Ontario, Canada.
Marjorie lived in Boston and Houghs Neck before moving to Hingham in 1956. She worked for many years at East Elementary School in Hingham as well as the Glastonbury Abbey Book Store. Marge greatly enjoyed her family and friends, shopping for her grandchildren with her best friend Rose Luca, and donating her savings to the Foxwoods Casino. Mrs. Tufts was a wonderful woman who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street Hingham, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7 p.m. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
