So many wonderful memories of my friendship with Jean and her family which began in 1944 as we began our college career. We were attendants and soloists in eachothers weddings and continued our friendship long distance as we found opportunity to meet for visits and travel. Jean always inspired me to do better. I have missed her so in recent years. My love and deepest sympathy to her sons and their children. She was a remarkable woman and you are her legacy.

My deepest sympathies to Peter, Chuck and all the family. I am so fond of Jean. She and Ellie Gay (Mom) were such dear friends and colleagues in creating beautiful music for so many years together at Hingham Congregational Church. Such fun we had as kids of choir families at the annual choir Christmas party and other behind-the-scenes choir events! I cherish the memories of her loving and encouraging instruction when I took piano lessons from Jean, and her angelic voice singing in church all those years as well as at my wedding. Heaven is rejoicing at their 2 newest choir members this week!

It was my great pleasure to drive Jean to Fine Arts Chorale rehearsals till her retirement in 2012. Those minutes of travel time were enlivened by her observations about the music we were performing. That she was singing well into her 80s was an inspiration to many.

Linda and I send our prayers to Jean's family. We knew her for many wonderful years at Hingham Congregational Church. She was among the first smiling faces we met when we moved her. She made us and everyone she touched feel so welcome and special. And her musical talents still flow with us. Her spirit and good will, lives on. Best, Linda and Gerald Jones
