Esther Field Obituary

Esther Ann (Kleeves) Field of Hull, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning, April 8, 2018 after a brief illness with both her children by her side at the age of 82.

Esther was born and raised in Muskegon, MI, where she met and married the love of her life before she came to settle in Hull in 1955.

Longtime resident of Hull, Esther retired from the Hingham District court in 1994. Lenny and Esther were both devoted members of the St. Nicholas United Methodist Church for over fifty years. Esther was also a member of numerous organizations including the VFW women's auxiliary, Hull garden club, lions club, senior center and the inter faith choir, among many others. She had a passion for flowers, gardening and singing in church. Together, Esther and Lenny enjoyed their many family trips to Disney, and she recently said her greatest joy has been her grandchildren and the anticipation of her great grandson, due this August.

Beloved wife of the late Leonard C. Field Sr. Esther is survived by her son Leonard C. Field Jr. and his wife Caroline (Tierney) Field of Rockland, her daughter Janet (Field) Corner and her husband Russell C. Corner of Rockland and her brother Howard Kleeves of Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael A. Meech and fiancé Rosie Tropea of Abington, Francis X. Meech III of Texas, and Kayla Esther-Ann Meech, Leonard C. Field III and Erin E. Field of Rockland, and Matthew and Abigail Donovan of Hull. She also has many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Esther has joined her husband of almost sixty years, two brothers John and Ronald and her parents William and Katherine of Michigan.

Visiting hours will be held at The Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street Hingham, on Friday April 13, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the St. Nicholas United Methodist Church, 128 Spring Street Hull, on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10 a.m.
