Edward E. “Ernie” Ford, of Scituate, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the age of 75.
Husband of Elizabeth Ann “Betty” (Rogers). Father of Edward Ford of Oregon, Patrick Ford of South Chatham, Michael Ford of Oregon and Sean Ford of Norwell. Loving grandfather to Caitlin, Kyle, Brendan, Taylor, Isabelle, Madeleine, Grayson, Abigail and Allison. Caring brother to Richard, Maureen and the late Elaine.
Edward grew up in South Boston where he met his wife Elizabeth Ann. He was extremely proud of his “Southie” roots and loved to regale his grandkids with stories from his younger years.
Edward graduated from South Boston High in 1960. Edward served in the US Navy aboard the USS Independence from 1962 -1964 and was deployed in the “Blockade” during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Edward had a passion for cooking and worked as a chef for many years, including at the Dexter School in Brookline, and the famous Union Oyster House in Boston. He also worked as a driver for DHL for many years.
