Barbara F. (Perry) Mouncey, of Rockland, passed away after a brief illness on January 14, 2017 at the age of 88.
Beloved wife of the late Harold A. Mouncey Jr., Loving mother to MaryAnn N. Counter and her husband James of Abington, Charles P. Mouncey and his wife Cathie of Medford, Jay A. Mouncey Sr. of Rochester, NH, and the late John H. Mouncey, Laura A. Reed, and Linda J. Mouncey. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Barbara is predeceased by her longtime friend Otis Magoun. She was the daughter of the late Ruth (Wing) and Carlton Perry.
Barbara worked for New England Art Publishers in Abington for over 35 before retiring in 2008. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and gardening. Barbara especially loved taking care of people and was always willing to lend a helping hand when she could. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara was a wonderful woman that will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street, Hingham on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A private interment will be held.
